Innovative dental implantation

Discover the benefits of dental implants and learn how they can transform your oral health

What is a dental implant?

A dental implant is a modern technology that serves as an artificial tooth root and replaces missing or badly damaged teeth. It is a small, spiral-shaped implant, usually made of titanium, known for its excellent biocompatibility properties. This artificial tooth root is implanted in the jawbone and serves as a stable foundation for dental crowns, bridges or other dental structures. With dental implants, patients can restore functionality and aesthetics, improving their quality of life and their smile.

Why choose dental implants?

  • Natural appearance and comfort
Implants look and feel like natural teeth. They are fully integrated with the jaw, ensuring comfort and naturalness in use.
  • Durability and security
With proper care, dental implants can last for decades, making them a more durable solution than bridges and removable dentures. This allows you to chew and speak without worrying about your dentures shifting or falling out.
  • Preservation of bone
Implants help prevent the loss of bone mass that often occurs after tooth extraction. They stimulate the bone, maintaining its structure and health.
  • No damage to adjacent tooth
Unlike bridges, which require the grinding down of neighbouring teeth, implants are placed independently without damaging or affecting other teeth.
How does the process of tooth implantation take place?
1

Preparing and creating an individualised treatment plan

  • This stage begins with a consultation with a dentist -implantologist - who performs an oral examination, radiographs and, if necessary, 3D scans of the jaw.
  • The condition of the bone tissue, the presence of inflammation and other aspects of the patient's health are analysed.
  • Based on the information gathered, an individualised treatment plan is drawn up, which includes choosing the type of implant, determining the number of implants and the schedule of procedures.
2
Placement of implants
  • At the agreed time, the patient comes for the procedure and the doctor, after anaesthesia with the method chosen by the patient (anaesthesia, sedation), performs the placement of the dental implant.
3

Dental implant healing period

  • This stage is called osseointegration, which is the process by which the implant fuses with the bone. It can last from several weeks to several months, depending on the individual characteristics of the patient's body and the place of implant placement.
  • During this period, it is important to follow the dentist's recommendations, avoid excessive stress on the implant and maintain oral hygiene.
  • If necessary, follow-up appointments may be scheduled to assess the progress of healing.
4
Making and fitting of an appropriate crown
  • When the implant is fully integrated into the bone, the dentist takes moulds of the teeth to make a customised crown that will be placed on the implant.
  • The crown is made in a dental laboratory, taking into account the colour, shape and size of the neighbouring teeth so that it blends in perfectly with the natural dentition.
  • After fitting and necessary adjustments, the crown is securely fixed to the abutment (connecting element) of the implant.
  • Once this stage is completed, the patient receives a functional and aesthetically pleasing tooth that is not different from the natural tooth.
